Indestructible Hulk #10 Review

Hulk's team up with Daredevil isn't going so well. Their battle with Baron Zemo goes bad really, really fast and the classic “Hulk is a threat to everyone” trope rears its head. Fortunately, Waid handles it deftly, putting a new spin on everything. Once again, Indestructible Hulk is a whole lot of fun as it zips through the streets of New York causing damage and chasing the bad dudes. Even on a bad day, this is still the best Hulk series in recent memory.

As good as this issue is, it suffers a bit from too much Marvel Universe science flimflam. The crazy guns everybody has do such weird stuff that it's hard to keep track of what's what. Is that the gun that hurts your ears or the gun that blinds you? Or does it do both? That said, the Daredevil stuff is top notch, which is no surprise since Waid also happens to write Murdock in one of the best superhero books on the stands.

Matteo Scalera, once again, does some mighty fine work. His Hulk is imbued with a carnal rage that leaps off the page. Everything feels bigger than life, which is obviously a good thing for a Hulk book. There are few moments where movement becomes an issue, however. It'll take you a moment to figure out exactly what is happening. Did the subway train crash into Hulk or did he jump out of the way? You'll have to study the panel to put the pieces together. Still, the good far outweighs the bad in Indestructible Hulk #10. This is another good issue of a really great comic series.
