Worms 3 Announced for iOS Devices

Team 17 has announced Worms 3, a new title in the long-running franchise coming to iOS devices.

The game will come with 27 single-player missions set across four themes: Beach, Spooky, Farmyard and Sewer.

Along with traditional local "Pass 'n' Play" for up to four players, ranked or friendly online multiplayer can be played asynchronously, meaning you won't have to play a full match in one sitting.

Classes have also been added to the game for the first time, meaning you'll be able to choose whether you play as a Scientist, Scout, Soldier or Heavy, each with its own unique skill. New weapons have also been announced, including Nora’s Virus, Black Hole Grenade, and Canned Heat along with old favourites the Old Lady, Homing Pigeon and Boggy B.

Worms 3 is due for release in Q3 2013 and will be available for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
