Dragon Age: Inquisition – Multiple Player Races Return, Mounts Added

The ability to choose the race of your character will return for the third title in series, Dragon Age: Inquisition. This option was removed in the second instalment, with all players assuming the role of a human named Hawke. This detail comes fresh from the reveal of GameInformer's September cover.

The ability listed alongside "large and varied environments" and "customizable armor" as ways that "BioWare is addressing feedback from previous titles in order to shape a new future for the franchise".

The trailer above, teasing GameInformer's reveal, also showed a first for the series: mounts. The video also features BioWare talking about what Dragon Age: Inquisition for the company in general: "We've taken a pretty huge opportunity by shifting engines, by exploring some new types of gameplay. The core reason we've done that is to look to a future for BioWare games, not just Dragon Age, where the player has more agency".

Dragon Age: Inquisition is due for release on PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4 sometime in 2014.
